Washuma Ceremony - Four Altars
Washuma Ceremony - Four Altars
Welcome To…
A night of self-discovery, prayers, song, and ancestral medicine — guided by Grandfather Washuma (San Pedro), the ancient cactus spirit of the Andes.
This ceremony invites us on a journey through the Four Altars: Air, Water, Fire, and Earth — honoring the elemental forces that sustain all life and restoring harmony among thought, emotion, spirit, and body.
Each altar becomes a mirror of the inner landscape, guiding us through transformation and reconnection with the essence of being.
Rooted in the ancestral lineages of the Andes, the Mapuche territories of Chile, and the Lakota traditions of North America, this work invites us to return to the living intelligence of nature.
Morning Kambo Offering (Optional)
On the morning of the ceremony, an optional Kambo session will be offered free of charge for participants who wish to cleanse, ground, and prepare energetically for the night’s journey.
Together, Sebastián and Owen hold the process with care, professionalism, and deep respect for this Amazonian medicine, offering a space of grounding, cleansing, and preparation for the night’s journey.
The Experience
As the night unfolds, we move between prayer, sacred songs, instrumental music, silence, and moments of introspection. The sacred fire becomes our center — a living heart that witnesses our transformation.
The ceremony also includes rapéh — a sacred Amazonian preparation of tobacco and medicinal plants traditionally used to cleanse the energetic field, center the mind, and deepen prayer. Applied with intention, it helps to quiet mental noise and ground the body in presence, aligning breath and awareness before continuing the journey.
As dawn approaches, we gather for an integration circle — a time to share, reflect, and anchor the insights received through the night. Surrounded by the first light of day, we honor what was revealed, allowing understanding to settle gently into the heart. Fresh fruits and herbal infusions accompany this closing moment, supporting grounding, nourishment, and renewal as we return to daily life.
The Four Elements
Air — The Mind
Breath, clarity, and perception. The element of Air opens the gates of awareness, clearing the fog of thought and allowing intuition to flow. It reminds us that every breath is both a prayer and a bridge between the visible and the unseen.
Water — The Heart
Flow, emotion, and purification. Water teaches us to surrender, to feel deeply, and to forgive. In its gentle currents, we remember how to love and how to be held by life. It is the medicine of compassion and renewal.
Fire — The Spirit
Transformation, courage, and vision. Fire awakens purpose, illuminating the path of the soul. It burns away what no longer serves, turning pain into wisdom and fear into strength. Through Fire, we remember our inner light.
Earth — The Body
Roots, embodiment, and gratitude. Earth anchors the journey, reminding us to bring our visions into form and to walk with presence upon the land. It is the altar of integration — where spirit becomes matter and prayer becomes action.
About the Medicine
Washuma (San Pedro)

Is a sacred cactus native to the Andean highlands of Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. For over three millennia, it has been revered by pre-Incan and Andean cultures — such as the Chavín, Mochica, and Inca — as a bridge between the human and the divine, a plant teacher guiding humanity toward harmony with the natural and spiritual worlds.
Traditionally used in ceremonies of healing, divination, and prayer, Washuma is known for opening the heart, clarifying the mind, and awakening the perception of unity. Its medicine teaches remembrance — to see beyond separation and to recognize the sacred interconnection between all forms of life.
From a scientific perspective, Washuma (Echinopsis pachanoi) contains a range of bioactive alkaloids, including mescaline, which interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain. This activation promotes neuroplasticity and expanded states of consciousness, often resulting in feelings of empathy, insight, and spiritual revelation. Studies suggest that this natural compound supports emotional regulation, helps alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, and fosters long-term psychological well-being when used in a safe, ceremonial context.
Physiologically, Washuma supports the cardiovascular and nervous systems by enhancing circulation and reducing stress-related responses. Its gentle stimulation of the parasympathetic system allows the body to release tension, while its energetic qualities harmonize subtle fields of vibration, often felt as warmth, light, or movement within the body.
Spiritually, Washuma is considered a teacher of clarity, compassion, and truth. It helps dissolve emotional blockages, purify the energetic body, and expand perception beyond the limits of the ego. Participants often describe profound experiences of peace, forgiveness, and unity — an opening of vision that reveals the deep intelligence of nature and the infinite presence of Spirit within all things.
Washuma’s wisdom reminds us that healing is not a process of addition, but of remembrance — a return to our essence, to the living intelligence of the Earth, and to the sacred heart that beats within all life. It is not a medicine of escape, but a path of awakening — one that invites us to see through the eyes of love and to walk this world with reverence, gratitude, and clarity.
Kambo

Is a sacred secretion from the Amazonian frog Phyllomedusa bicolor, traditionally used by indigenous tribes of the Upper Amazon, such as the Matsés and Katukina peoples. Known as the “vaccine of the forest,” this medicine is applied in small points on the skin to activate a deep physical and energetic detoxification process.
Rich in bioactive peptides, Kambo supports the immune, circulatory, and endocrine systems, stimulating the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Scientific studies have shown that these peptides possess antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties — promoting cellular regeneration and restoring physiological balance.
Beyond the physical dimension, Kambo works as an energetic cleanser, clearing emotional stagnation, mental fog, and residual density from the energetic field. Many participants describe feeling lighter, more centered, and connected after receiving it — as if the mind and body were reset to a state of clarity and receptivity.
In traditional Amazonian practice, Kambo is used to strengthen the spirit, enhance focus, and prepare the body for visionary work with other sacred plants. When received with respect and proper guidance, it serves as a powerful ally for purification and grounding — a doorway into presence, vitality, and conscious renewal.
